ASTM F67
ASTM F67
Unalloyed Titanium, for Surgical Implant Applications
ASTM F67 is a standard specification for unalloyed titanium and titanium alloy for surgical implant applications (UNS R50250, UNS R50400, UNS R50550, UNS R50700) . It covers the chemical and mechanical requirements for four grades of titanium and titanium alloy, designated as Grades 1, 2, 3, and 4. The standard also includes requirements for heat treatment, testing, and inspection of the material.
The purpose of ASTM F67 is to ensure that titanium and titanium alloy surgical implant materials produced by manufacturers meet a set of minimum requirements for their intended use in medical applications such as surgical implants. This specification also covers the requirement for both wrought and cast forms of titanium and titanium alloy.
