AMS STANDARDS
SAE International Aerospace Material Specifications (AMS) are widely used for aerospace titanium products.
The selection below focuses on specifications relevant to sheet, plate, bar, forgings, tubing and wire.

What AMS Means
AMS stands for Aerospace Material Specification. These specifications are published by SAE International. Each AMS number addresses a defined material/product-form/condition combination, so the number should be quoted precisely.
AMS and ASTM Grade Names
Some AMS materials closely correspond to familiar ASTM titanium grade families, but the specifications are not interchangeable. Aerospace orders should identify the exact AMS specification and revision together with any customer or OEM requirements.
Standards note: This page is a practical overview and is not a substitute for the official standard. Standards are revised periodically, and requirements can vary by edition, product form and application. Always state the required standard and revision on the purchase order and verify compliance against the applicable specification and material test report (MTR).
